The genuine trial of Samuel Goodere, Esq., commander of His Majesty's ship the Ruby, and Matthew Mahony, and also the trial of Charles White, all concerned in the murder of Sir John Dinely Goodere, Bart., at the general sessions held for the city of Bristol on Thursday the 26th and Friday the 27th of March, 1741, before the worshipful Henry Combe, Esq., mayor of Bristol, and the worshipful Michael Foster, Esq., serjeant at law, recorder of the said city. To which is added, some account of the life and particular transactions of Sir John Dinely which induced the captain to perpetrate so horrid a fact.

Samuel Goodere's journal, during the time he served as lieutenant in the Navy in the year 1719 ... : as also, the voluntary (authentick) confessions of Matthew Mahony and Charles White, relating to the aforesaid murder, likewise, the confession of the three ruffians who kidnapp'd Sir John Dineley Goodere, bart. : likewise an account of the behaviour and last dying speeches of the aforesaid criminals at the place of execution, on Wednesday the 15th of April 1741.
