Horst Kurnitzky: born 1938 in Berlin, Germany, studied architecture, philosophy, sociology, German literature and science of religions (anthropology) in Berlin and Frankfurt-on-the-Main; Doctor of Philosophy of Religions (1974) with a dissertation on the origin of money in sacrifice cults "Triebstruktur des Geldes" (The Instinct-Structure of Money) at the Free University of Berlin; worked as an architect, taught at universities in Germany and Mexico, and lectured at Universities in Western Europe and the Americas; has been a consultant to universities and governments in Latin America, and written books, essays and radio programs, features and radios theatres on philosophical and anthropological themes about the arts, culture, society and economy, as well as organised art exhibitions and directed films. Today lives in Berlin and Mexico City.
