Dr. Sumati Varma is a Reader in the Department of Commerce at Sri Aurobindo College(Evening), University of Delhi.

She is currently associated for teaching at the Masters of International Business, Department of Commerce, Delhi University. She has been associated with teaching for the external students program of the London School of Economics and Political Science, London University. She has also rendered her services as visiting faculty at The Amity Business School, Manesar.

She is also a consultant for the NCERT and is a co author for the text book on Business Studies for class XII published by them.

Her teaching and research interests include International Business and Finance, Managerial Economics . She is presently engaged in research on emerging Indian multinationals and on the impact of globalisation on India. Her particular interests lie in the field of urban exclusion and cultural entrepreneurship.
