This was a nice, light, funny read. There's a particular cadence that some English translations of Chinese texts have that I think lends a particular flavor to the humor of this book (in a very good way). According to some of the other people I discussed this with, that might be unique to the translation I read (literally just a free PDF online found after googling "Real story of ah q pdf.") as others had the proper Penguin classics translation hahah. Interesting how Ah Q was perhaps a personification of Lu Xun's grievances against China in the post-Qing turmoil.
